Our property, ‘Moolaboola’, straddles the shires of Colac-Otway and Corangamite and is situated in the Stonyford/Pomborneit areas, an area renowned for its rich volcanic soil and predictable winter rainfall. The gradual demise of the small family dairy farm in our area has enabled us to amalgamate several smaller holdings into one. Our farmland ranges from rolling rises country with some stony outcrops that tends to dry off early to some wetter flats and swamps that hold on into the summer. Currently we are running about 500 breeders, along with bulls, young stock and replacements. Our bloodlines are based on selections of bulls that are moderate framescore and thick constitution. Our aim is to produce thick beefy stock true to the Angus type.
