Bull Oak Plugga Plugga 2013Colac-based John Woodward, Moolaboola Angus, and good friends Ken and Darren Hayes, Halfway Partnership, joined forces to buy Bull Oak Well Plugga G22 for $8500. They are with Roy Harlock, Landmark Colac, auctioneer Gordon Wood, and stud principal Heath Nickolls. PINNAROO's Bull Oak Well Angus stud was back to The Basin sale complex at Wilalooka on Friday last week for its second annual bull sale. Still on a high from a phenomenal first sale in 2012, Heath and Amanda Nickolls and sons put together a solid group of bulls for the 26 South Australian and Victorian registered bidders. While the average was down on last year, Bull Oak Well was able to achieve a near-total clearance and higher top price than its 2012 sale. Of the 34 bulls on offer, 30 sold at an average of $4160, to a high of $8500. Attracting the most attention was Bull Oak Well Plugga G22. Sired by homebred bull Unlimited D38. He had an impressive +111kg for 600-day weight and +69kg for carcase weight. He went to Colac, Victoria, buyers Halfway Partnership and Moolaboola Angus. John Woodward, Moolaboola Angus, said the bull's "power, presence, and good figures, made him the standout bull of the offering".
